The #Yankees gave up 23 runs in the first two games of a best of five. This has only happened one other time with the 1999 Red Sox, who incidentally came back to win. I’m not that optimistic.

Also seems like several plays where receivers aren’t even looking for a ball that’s thrown their way (Shavers, Palmer). Allen getting frustrated cause guys aren’t where he’s expecting them/needs them to be.

You will be pleased to know that my wife is getting a masters in early childhood education at the U. And this is exactly how they say to develop a curriculum for very young. Each lesson builds vocabulary, but sparks follow-up thought and development in each kid based on their interest

Yes. Especially in the shallow Lake Erie, but also in the other lakes. It also allows for more erosion on lake shores that no longer have an ice buffer to protect them from winter storms

This is a main contributor to less ice on the Great Lakes. An extended summer season lets the lakes retain their warmth. Even when it cools off, they can’t dissipate heat fast enough to take advantage of the still cold winter season. Ice simply forms later, remains less thick, and breaks up faster

"Dead as a doornail" dates back to at least Shakespeare, who used it in "Henry IV Part 2: Falstaff Boogaloo" (1596).

By the time of Charles Dickens' "Christmas Carol" (1843), the idiom was well-worn, so that the narrator ponders what the phrase even means.

What the heck even IS a 'doornail'?

I've composited a bit of Henry IV, part 2 where the phrase appears and one of those quote sites of Charles Dickens' narrator rambling about dead as a doornail. I put two line art drawings of their heads.

It's a bit of a mess as illustrations go.

Who from that team would replace the current Bills position parallel? Not too many. Jackson as RB2, Moorman as punter, Evans over Coleman, Williams over Daquan Jones, maybe Whitner over Rapp, McGee over White. Not too many more…

Overnight thoughts on #Bills game. One, I like the development of Moore and Shavers. Becoming role players in this offense and can be counted on for 4-5 catches (combined) per game. Two, Bills could really use a rested and effective Hoecht. Pass rush needs some help badly. Solomon ain’t cutting it

#Bills did not play their best game by a long shot. But it also shows that they are still such a good team that they can put up 30 points on crummy nights, while waiting for their opponent to make just one mistake to capitalize on. Miami had a good game plan, but they just aren’t the better team
