I podcast about music. Along with Urkel Moe Dee (who hasn't migrated here yet), we've done 100 episodes of Return to Zero. Give it a listen to learn about us and our expansive love for hip-hop culture. Plus, we talk Nickelodeon, hip-hop collectables and other stuff.

Exile has specialized in producing great coming of age debut albums. Blu and Fashawn’s were the best of some really dope projects like that.

About a year ago I saw him open up for Blu & Exile. He was really good. And he’s been steadily releasing projects even now. Many are really dope.

One of the greatest “character” entrances in film history

JMJ going for his strap in his jacket always cracks me up.

I’d say the larger problem across all three shows (which I saw over a period of almost 15 years) is he did a lot of the same stuff each time. It’s like he had his schtick and didn’t want to deviate from it.

There were some great moments. But it was all a period where Father Time was winning.

The portion with Collins was pretty good, but that was only for like 30 minutes max. The show seem pretty phoned in. Clinton seemed like he was in pretty bad shape, and didn’t really do much beside lead call and response chants. The show ended quick without any encore. 2/

Yeah, I’ve seen him like 3 times live.

He was… okay. First time was at a Lollapalooza, which isn’t an ideal setting. The second time I saw him was the best. Third time was back in 2006 or so, and they had Bootsy Collins with them. That was pretty disappointing actually. 1/

Figured has wasn't going to walk, even if he was found NG on the other charges. Four years isn't long enough, but at least it was keep him out of circulation for a while and delays his fake preacher reboot.

And certainly the appeals are coming.

My father once said rock n roll is a beer commercial. Figure that it’s time to that it happens with hip hop.

Blackalicous’ third project was their most focused, grounded, and serious minded project. Both Gift of Gab (RIP) and Chief XCEL demonstrate their continued commitment to being the best in their respective fields.

The last Cold Chillin’ album features an amazing performance from Kool G Rap and some top notch production. Great fall/winter album.

“Riho only gets bullied because she isn’t good in the ring” is certainly a take.

For me it’s the reverse: I’m allergic to chocolate.

We used to call this stupidity. There were smart people and stupid people and we let the smart people do the things they were good at and the stupid people were taken care of and didn't need to worry about what the smart people were doing. But now we let the stupid people think they're smart.

Man, when I think about the effort I had to expend going down how many pissy-ass alleys just to not got spotted by cops…

“U Know How We Do It” (and its remix) also qualify.

Also, I like “The Doors” a lot more now than I used to.

Looked it up, and “disavowed” is putting it lightly. “No one hated it more than me.” Ouch.
jesseducker.bsky.social
I think his name is still on it, but he’s completely disavowed it.

Really grimy and claustrophobic atmosphere. It clicked during my second viewing. I’ve heard Fincher hates it.
