Six years ago, I wrote most of the Tragedian dialogue for Pathologic 2 in iambic pentameter. I'm back now doing the same for Pathologic 3. I figured it was helpful to write a guide on *how* I did it – in case I get hit by a bus and the team has to carry on without me.

I'd avoided his post-60s work until I started teaching the class on 80s games, likely due to my childhood terror of the "Rockit" video—but once I made the Apple II connection I went down the rabbit hole and now he's pretty much my favorite jazz keyboardist of the last 50 years.

things would be much less confusing if the Chalamet ping-pong champ movie was called “The Smashing Machine”, the new Scorsese doc was called “Marty Supreme”, and the new Dwayne Johnson Oscar Play was called “Untitled Dwayne Johnson Oscar Play”

I’m gonna be honest, if I had found this in a thrift store for 10 bucks when I was 20, I would have been riding that high for a week

look, i’m not saying it wouldn’t take a lot of work—but if someone at Eurogamer wants to start reading all of Bennett’s moral philosophy work now so that they can write their review in the form of an exhaustively cited academic response paper, it would be an incredible bit
Baby Steps, a 2025 PC/PS5 game by Bennett Foddy, Maxi Boch, and Gabe Kaplan A walking sim isn't for everyone, and usually not for me, but Baby Steps still managed to catch my eye. The game cast players as onesie-wearing "fail son" Nate, a grown man who spends his days slobbing out on his parents' couch eating pizza and looking at the TV. That is, until he gets sucked away from this sedentary lifestyle and into a world without his trusty couch to support him. Now, Nate has to learn to make his way through this land full of mountains, obstacles, wildlife, muddy quagmires and more, one baby step at a time.
Oh, and it also includes a "fully dynamic onesie soilage system".
', so there is that. I'm undecided
on how I feel about this particular feature right now, though you can't deny it is different. -
Victoria a google entry for a 2012 interview with Foddy:

I'm a moral philosopher at Oxford University, where I spend my time reading and writing about things like drug addiction, medical ethics, and human longevity.

Just because *you’ve* managed to lobotomize yourself into nothing but your arguing on the internet with words doesn’t mean that that’s all that’s there. Well, used to be there. Before you lobotomized yourself.

Buster Keaton by Roddy McDowall, 1965

"Keaton was doubtless the most unpretentious (perhaps even unconscious) Surrealist worthy of the name, & his movies shimmer with incongruous images which are both uproarious yet faintly disturbing."
- Stephen Harvey
Buster holds a picture of himself when he was about five or six, from the time he performed on stage with his parents in their family act, The Three Keatons.

When people I don't like ask me about the process of game design, I send them this diagram from Richard Duke's 1974 book Gaming: the Future’s Language
An enormously complicated diagram, the child of several pie-charts that have undergone a process of nuclear fission, largely illegible. A caption at the bottom reads 'Figure 19. The Game Design Process'
