I’m always happy and eager to share my dance skills in my opera career, whenever possible. It brings me great joy to merge my two passions together. ✨Stay tuned for part 2 tomorrow! ✨

In my teens, I moved onto Ballet, Flamenco and eventually Bellydance. Ballet was difficult, but it proved to be an invaluable asset to my technique. I still Bellydance to this day with the fab Kamala Almanzar.

I was lucky not to have pushy “stage parents.” They always let me decide if I wanted to continue pursuing dance and I did.

Part 1: I began taking dance lessons at age 4 and joined a professional Folklorico and a Hawaiian dance company at age 6. My dance teachers taught me the utmost professionalism and how to do a costume change in literally any type of dressing room.

Reminiscing about about the wonderful experience I had as the Dance Choreographer for Opera San Jose “Zorro.” I realized, through this experience that many people in the opera world were not aware of my dance background. 💃🏻

It was a whirlwind of a performance! With only 3 1/2 hrs notice, I jumped into the role of “Toypurina” and made my Opera San Jose Mainstage Debut. 😱 I can’t thank my colleagues & the crew enough for being so helpful and supportive. Viva team Zorro! ⚔️💃🏻⚔️

Thank you to everyone who came out to “Opera in the Park.” I had a great time performing some Carmen, Maddalena and Nicklausse with a 32-piece orchestra, under the baton of Maestro Bruce Stasyna with the help of Cathy Miller 🎹 Grateful for every moment that I get to be onstage. 💃🏻

Always love this time of year there and getting to see so many awesome friends. And squeezing in a Broadway show. 🎭 Now time to get ready for another production of “Zorro,” this time with Opera San Jose

This past week was a busy time for the Opera League of Los Angeles and LA Opera Connects! The cast dinner is always great, especially when I get to see so many opera friends. We also welcomed college, high school and middle school students to the “Così fan tutte” dress rehearsals. 🎶❤️🎶

Had a great time yesterday helping out at the Pasadena Vocal Competition semi-finals! I’m serving in the board this year and love being an advocate for my fellow singers. Saw some incredible singing and many colleagues, who all sang their faces off. Also, celebrated my besties birthday! 🎶❤️🎶
