Read a great article on substack about how we need to fight if we believe in something even if we lose. ACA subsidies, fair elections, civil rights. If you're not willing to fight and lose for it then folks will think you never really cared about it. Vote Jessica to fight for you.

It was a cold, damp drawing for the ballot order last night but I got lucky and #1 was drawn for me. This means I'll be the first name you see for TCDP Chair! Early voting starts Feb 17th, primary election day is March 3rd.

It's not that hard, and it's not a lot. It's the bare minimum we need to steer our country in the right direction. As TCDP Chair, I won't be able to pass these as laws, but I will build a coalition that pressures lawmakers that can. Vote Jessica Cohen, March 3rd.

Thanks to the great folks at the Central Texas Building Trades for giving me a moment to speak at their meeting! When we're talking about workers rights, we're never getting any progress in Texas until we get pro big business and anti-worker rights Republicans out of office.

So proud of my city for standing with trans and non-binary folx! More cities need to denounce SB8 for the dangerous legislation it is. Vote in the primaries on March 3rd for candidates that stand against the hate Republicans are using to divide us.

Spent my evening at the South Austin Dems meeting, followed by the Austin Young Dems. It's vital we listen to the communities with the most at stake. Early voting for primaries starts Feb 17th, Election Day is Mar 3.

Some people think meetings like this are boring, but they are important to shaping the future of our city. I take my position as Chair for the Board of Adjustment as seriously as I take any of my other responsibilities. I'll lead Travis Co. Dems with the same level of commitment.

Ran into Judge Mary Ann Espiritu at the big queer wedding party. Thank you Judge Denise Hernandez and Democrasexy for throwing this great event to marry gay couples. It's good to know that Central Texas judges are so supportive of the LGBTQ community.

Had a minor surgical procedure at the hospital today. After being discharged, caught a ride straight to the reception for my friend Julio Salinas who's running for Texas House District 41! We'll be lucky to have him in the #txlege and I look forward to working with him!

I drove 45 miles out to beautiful Lago Vista to meet the North Shore Dems. Their new neighbor program is a great idea that I'll be teaching to the other Dem clubs. It's a great way to meet your neighbors, engage them, and make sure they know there are like-minded people nearby.

First Wednesdays are always a tough one. Started at the Westlake Eanes Dems meeting, jumped on zoom with the amazing Black Austin Dems while driving to the newly minted Riverside Dems meeting. Ended by watching the elections for the UDems officers. Congrats to all the winners!

Over the past month I have received ~20 health insurance letters addressed to other people. Only under Trumps Admin could these letters be sent to the same address without the "error" being noticed. Repubs trick Americans into thinking that Dems policies fail. By sabotaging them.

Phone banked for Doug Weiss, Dem candidate for Pflugerville mayor. MAGA learned they can push their ideology via local policy by running for seats where they don't have to voice support for Trump. Dems need to slam the door in their faces. We will not allow evil to be elected.
