Thankful that my parents didn’t die of dysentery when they moved to Oregon in the 1960s.

I’m really good at raising one eyebrow at a time without having to show visible effort or make a silly face. Pretty sure that won’t show up when I am a fossil someday.

My coteacher was a media studies major in college, so now in our Earth science classes we show related disaster movies. Is so fun, students are very engaged, and there is lots to unpack! We showed San Andreas too. Can’t wait to watch your video!

I love their books! Definitely the kind of books you are happy to read over and over again!

I’ve lived here for almost 40 years, but I’m from Portland. It’s a much smaller city and there is a lot of public support for climate friendly infrastructure projects as opposed to here.

All this is tough in such a big city with entrenched interests. Wealthy folks who are pretty happy with the system as is. Also I can only imagine how hard it is to make BIG changes here.

And/or…make it less convenient to drive (it already is). The transit system is already pretty decent in Manhattan. The outer boroughs need more public transit investment too. Also flooding resilience structures. But…I’ll bet there are projects in the works that I don’t know about.

Yes, but also investing in a climate-resilient public transportation system will increase ridership and get more cars off the road. NYC is huge and has aging infrastructure, so the sooner the better. The city has taken major steps, but we need more still.

Not to be a party pooper, but this mighty created is also now a vital science communicator, perhaps helping to inspire some awe and wonder for the natural world in people who would not otherwise visit a natural history museum.
