Sex workers do not want their clients criminalized - that’s how they pay their rent. They want to have more clients so they can earn more money, to be able to improve their lives - be that to move to a different job or continuing in sex work. Criminalizing clients makes that harder for them.

The vast majority of sex workers are participating willingly, in the same way that the vast majority of workers in a capitalist society are working willingly - that is, we all have to work to survive, and we have to choose from a limited set of options. All work under capitalism is exploitative.

…which means they have fewer choices of clients and have to lower their prices and/or accept clients they would otherwise refuse. This puts them at greater risk of danger and makes them poorer, which makes it even harder to leave the sex industry if they want to.

That’s not actually how it works, that’s a poor understanding of labor economics. When sex workers’ clients are criminalized, clients are less willing to share personal information, which makes it harder for sex workers to screen them for safety. It also makes sex workers compete for fewer clients..

Sorry but no. WWE is using this as a major opportunity to promote themselves and they will likely get tons of site visits and donations as a result. People need to know that they are a harmful organization.

A good message, but please don’t support World Without Exploitation - they advocate for policies that are really harmful to sex workers.
