I think it’s because we are privileged enough to live in a time where giving birth is pretty safe. My mum used to be midwife and did a module on the history of women’s health as part of her degree.

It’s absolutely necessary to understand the historical context to realise how lucky we are today.

People need to believe that there is a bigger conspiracy and that the world can’t be changed by a single lunatic acting alone.

I fear we have very similar algorithms.

I agree with your point that those who went to private school are over represented in music in the UK but Charli has been a millionaire since her early twenties from Fancy and I love it.

You’re ignoring my boundary of not having transphobes interact with me. What does that make you?

I also concede sensationalist headlines are part of the problem. This one is vague but not too bad but I have seen quotes from Liz Kendall on this matter being massively taken out of context and used in headlines.

That’s fair enough. I just don’t think it makes the cohort of us who are critical of the current Labour government (me included) very credible if we start saying things like they are bullying disabled people with no basis. There’s enough things to criticise them on without doing that.

I agree he’s a red Tory. I just find it strange that this particular initiative is getting backlash. But seemingly it’s because no one actually reads anything anymore!

I’m also very suspicious of Starmers Labour but curious what in the article makes you think that? To me it sounds like they are planning to give MORE financial support to those who are disabled & want to work. I can’t see anything in the article that indicates they are planning to remove benefits.

(Financial support that is)
February 9, 2025 at 8:34 AM
Because it says they are planning to give MORE support to people who are disabled and want to go back to work but scared about losing their benefits.
February 9, 2025 at 8:33 AM
Did you actually read the article
February 8, 2025 at 10:20 PM
😹 I was waiting for it!

Oh behave.

Did you read the article? It’s not that palliative care isn’t available, it’s that it doesn’t work for everyone in all cases.
November 25, 2024 at 9:58 PM
No it wouldn’t. Pain relief does not work for everyone for a multitude of reasons. Read the article. You’re being naive. Dying is painful and scary even with the best pain relief possible.
November 25, 2024 at 9:55 PM
Pain management drugs don’t always work for everyone, for a multitude of reasons. There are also other symptoms it can’t resolve such as uncontrollable nausea. Read the article, it explains this.
