All gorilla, no filler.
My favourite related one is the map Hepesh passes the Doctor in Curse of Peladon is the set layout hand drawn. You could just about lay one on top of the other.

Ooh, that's inspired me to try a monster bash model. Nice colours, too - I like the blue warts :)

Entry prog for me! And the beginning of my obsession with Slaine, which begat a growing interest in Celtic mythology and fantasy in general. Thanks, Pat and Mick!

We're getting the tail of your heat down here (nothing like yours, ofc) but it's always worrying to hear you guys are entering the Black Season.

She wasn't bad in Dr Who, either!

A cover devoid of action and dialogue with a strapline dripping with irony is the opener for a new year of issues. Amazing indicator of how bold the comic was during its golden era!

Oh I agree. The economics are a but silly. And what's quality control like? (I'll tell you, he mutters, glowering at Black d20, White pipped d6 and the full set of Moldvay originals that cane with the bargain near mint box set he found at a local op shop. Traitors, all!)

I have five sets and still have to stop myself when I'm browsing the local game shop. Gamers are funny about them - you can never have too many, you develop superstitions around 'good and 'bad' ones. Quite illogical. But without them where would we be? With chits!

14 hours here, and a very happy new year to you both Dave and Penk. Thanks for introducing so much that's new to me through an era I'm increasingly told is so old! Have a great 2026.

Happy New Year, Mr Moon! We made it, indeed. Here's to a better 2026 :)

Not a bad way to end the year. Stay positive, hopefully we'll be able to look back this time next year with more certainty, positivity and goodwill. And lego :)

Have you caught any episodes of The Brokenwood Mysteries yet?
December 26, 2025 at 3:06 PM
Oh we know the answer to that one already.
a man is playing a saxophone in front of a fire while a woman plays drums in the background .
Alt: A man (Tim Capello) is playing a saxophone shirtless in front of a fire on stage at a nighttime concert in the film Lost Boys

Could been a timbrel and sounded like a tambourine. Food for thought, though!
