“Despite condemning the racist and divisive rhetoric of Farage and his followers, Starmer’s Government continue to accept the central premise of his message that the biggest problem facing the country is the amount of people who want to come and live here.“

🔴Keir Starmer’s Farage-Dominated Conference Takes Labour Up a ‘Darker Path’ Towards a Reform Government

The Prime Minister’s condemnations of Reform’s racist rhetoric, was undermined by him accepting the central premise of Nigel Farage’s anti-migrant politics, argues @adambienkov.bsky.social

NEW: A judge warned Friday that the Trump admin is "with a wink and a nod" deporting people to Ghana, only for Ghana to quickly re-deport them to countries where they face torture and persecution.

This is what the judge said in the case that sentenced Connolly to jail and for which she pleaded GUILTY: “You intended to incite serious violence. What you did encouraged activity which threatened or endangered life.”

These morons are cheering a self confessed criminal who encouraged mass murder.

The Reform UK conference gives a standing ovation to "special guest" Lucy Connolly, who pled guilty to stirring up racial hatred after she called for asylum hotels to be set on fire with people inside them.

There is a much cheaper, more sustainable and more human alternative to using military sites that could end the need for hotels in months www.refugeecouncil.org.uk/stay-informe...

Can't we call them HOSTELS?

There's been a lot of talk about asylum hotels over the last few weeks, but little in the way of practical suggestions. Our new analysis at @refugeecouncil.bsky.social sets out how the government could end the use of hotels within months, rather than years www.mirror.co.uk/news/politic...
Ending the use of hotels to house people seeking asylum - Refugee Council
New analysis outlinines how the UK can responsibly end the use of asylum hotels within a year through a secure, practical solution.

Horrible stuff from the UK's Daily Mail.

This is just getting ridiculous. Nothing that has happened (or is reported below the headline to have happened) this weekend remotely justifies talk of an explosion or mass protests. The media are confecting a crisis, and, in some sections of it, hoping to provoke one. 1/3

Arresting 400+ people for the "terrorist" offence of protesting against mass murder while large segments of the right are openly encouraging riots against immigrants is a tale of a very unhappy country and government.

Another landmark judgement by @eucourtofjustice.bsky.social that applies to many member states: even in cases of a sudden surge in arrivals, basic reception conditions must be provided. So will the @ec.europa.eu finally launch infringement proceedings against all (many) member states in breach?
