We dream of having a Prime minister like that in Europe!

Thanks! It’s a harsh reality check: flowers and soft power don't stop bullies. Only strength does ! Sadly, you can't stop brutes with bouquets. 🥀

Cheers Jérôme! We might need a real bazooka if this comes true, but for now, thanks for the share! 😉

I remain baffled by Trump's blinding ignorance. But I suspect this weaponized incompetence is just a smokescreen to mask a real betrayal of democratic values. In contrast, I had to admire the Canadian PM's courage. It is a lesson in leadership that I desperately hope Europe will learn from.

Politics often has a short memory, but thankfully, people like you remember the truth. The bond formed in 1776 is older and stronger than any modern disagreement. I appreciate your kind words.

Thank you, Joe. Lafayette is indeed the eternal link between us. 'Freedom fries' was just a passing political mood, but the history we share is written in stone. And we haven't forgotten that the US gave that freedom back to us in 1944. It goes both ways. 🇺🇸🇫🇷

Isolationism is indeed a global challenge right now. That is why staying connected with people from other countries is more important than ever. Take care, Joe. 🤝

Sir, reading your fear touched me. As a French defense expert whose father fought alongside the US Army, I wrote this open letter to you and to the America we still hold dear. We don't confuse the people with the politics. european-security.com/the-america-...

Exactly. As I argue in the piece, Anchorage was never about negotiation for Putin, but about legitimation. The 'optics' were the only deliverable Trump could bring home, while the substance—the security of Ukraine—was lost in the theatrical fog.

Spot on. This obsession with 'optics' over substance is dangerous. As I argue in my latest piece, we are seeing a similar pattern in the Arctic: while narratives clash, the actual strategic reality is shifting away from the West
