Roslindale to Cambridge. I'll probably talk most about local politics and housing policy. Also into space stuff. Very bad Learned League player.

Sometimes people opposed to new housing here will begrudgingly admit that new supply may slow rent growth in other cities, while insisting that can't work in Cambridge.

But plenty of folks in Berkeley said the same thing about their city, and well...

Many Berkeley rents are back to 2018 prices. Is new housing the reason?
Rent prices for Berkeley’s older apartments have cooled significantly. Should thanks go to the city's housing boom?

Both across a body of water from a larger, major US city.

Both played key roles in the birth and expansion of exclusionary zoning.

Both have limited room to build out but obvious opportunities to build up.

NAL but I'm guessing there is something in the state constitution precluding a binding ballot question to limit or simply end ballot questions?

If not, I have an idea.

I do think ballot questions are very occasionally appropriate, e.g. MA marijuana decriminalization in 2008. That was a good thing that a majority of people supported but was going to be hard for electeds to vote for bc at the time the anti-decrim crowd cared a lot more and had $.

The particulars always matter, but when I find myself ambivalent about a ballot q or state leg. race, I vote No on ballot questions and in favor of challengers, to discourage proliferation of the former and encourage it of the latter.

More electoral competition and more legislating please.

This is also my most major celebrity interaction. I'm not much of a celebrity interactioner.
