So if I'm reading this right (big if cause of how confusing this is), they're bragging about how many new restaurants are opening and joining DoorDash™ at the same time the total number of restaurants on their platform, including new ones I assume, is down 7% from the start of the year (I assume).
NEW RESTAURANT JOINING RATE The new restaurant joining rate is calculated as the number of restaurants joining the DoorDash platform over the course of a twelve-month period divided by the total number of restaurants on the DoorDash platform at the beginning of that period. I'm not seeing a clear source on "How many businesses did you see kick the bucket this year?" Most of the other stuff is data from their app (restaurant closures, food prices) or things like the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Best I can find is this, and I haven't found the actual survey RESULTS yet.
