Almost no-one is going to be mourning drug traffickers being taken out but isn't the US military in the Caribbean killing people in a speed boat in international waters with no judicial process whatsoever flat out murder and what kind of precedent does that establish?

Sadly some of the elements of one of the most depressing movies I ve ever seen The Children of Men from the novel. are being put in to place by the US government both the extra cruelty to migrants and giving up trying to make air pollution from motor vehicles and other sources better.

There are good things out of the USA for example The Bach Channel being broadcast from Boston www.classicalwcrb.org/show/the-bac...
The Bach Hour
The virtually limitless well of music by J.S. Bach has always had a prominent place on radio airwaves in Boston. Whether it’s an iconic work like the Toccata and Fugue in D minor or a rarely heard but...

Well Trump is about to throw Ukraine under the bus. As his government damages its citizens by increasing the amount of air pollution from motor vehicles and exacerbates a nation based on migration turning on itself.

Elon Musk has helped a party and a president that has going out of their way to promote policies that will increase air pollution and CO2 Production and damage Teslas bottom line . Teslas a Elon fan club so nothing will happen but he's been a disgrace to so many of the companies goals.

Also, we've already stopped burning coal to make electricity in the UK, and there are some engineers saying there may be times this year where we stop burning natural gas AKA methane, (which sometimes leaks) to make electricity.
May 23, 2025 at 3:25 PM
With the remarks of the president about energy policy in the UK today and the changes in rules in the US means theUS government is now officially proclimate change and air pollution and wants the UK to follow along, its terrible. Vote for the Lib Dems and get cleaner air n combate climate emergency

Some good news. New Ev registrations in the UK in April are up on last April and also petrol only propelled cars fell below 50% of cars registered.

I heard a dinner speaker on the importance of resilience in infrastructure. There needs to be much more roof top solar paired with LFP batteries the shortest possible distance from where the power is made and where it's used.

There is no necessity technologically to use the 🔥 of fossil fuels to move vehicles around. A mixture of Batteries and renewables can power the UK for over 90 percent technologically it's just the design and implementation that needs discussion.
April 30, 2025 at 11:13 PM
Tony Blairs comments on the UKs response to climate change from what I've heard of them are technologically out of touch. Coal has been removed from the grid already and there are predictions that there will be gas free grid times this year. This post to be continued....

Those of us in the West of England have the chance to send a similar message on Thursday - by electing Liberal Democrat champion @olihenman.bsky.social to stand up for our community🔶💪

The silver lining of the US tarrif madness a benefit to the climate. One of the worst fuels is what goes in to large ships. The reduction in traffic across the Pacific will be cutting the burning of that. Also reductions in in economy activity in the US would mean less burning oil products.

There is still an uphill battle going on to reduce the 🔥 of diesel n petrol. in the uk we still burn as much of those every year as we did in 1990 the only thing that reduced it below that and only for a short time was the lock down for the pandemic let's get in EVs,walk, ride get on a bus or train.

I ve just worked out what's happening with the US government. It's a real life version of Big or Vice Versa given their public statements they are 9 year olds going about in adult bodies this explains everything.😉

The US Vice president J D Vance has the diplomatic sense of a Darleck. He managed to get himself on camera describing Chinese factory workers as peasants.

Ignoring who the governments are, China is a similar size in land mass to the USA. USA has 360 million people. China has over a billion people. If they stick to their present policies who do you think would win a trade war?
April 9, 2025 at 6:58 AM
I was thinking Tesla is vulnerable in a way that I didn't think it was. Tesla has a factory in Shanghai. With Teslas association with Mr Musk n Trump and with this tariff madness. The Chinese government could make it incredibly awkward for that factory.

Our goal is to bring manufacturing jobs back to America! So let's be patient with Trump's trade war with Asia. With short-term sacrifice, our children could have this to look forward to - the good old days of textile manufacturing in the USA!!!

Today Trump has signed orders to increase US Coal production. With that n outside of Tesla going pro Petrol n deisel. It's ridiculous not only from an air quality n climate point view but also from a technological point of view. Next it'll be VHS tapes n BBC Basic computers.
