Bad political and pub admin takes thrive here; slightly better landscape and nature photos also thrive here. May also talk about nerdy things from time to time.
Oh for sure! Didn’t mean to come across any certain way btw! I was skeptical as well, but when I saw the page they referenced I went to have a look.

I just saw someone else replied with the direct link, but I figured I’d pop it up here in case anyone else was curious

I yearn for a left-wing Tea Party.

You presume he knows what that is, and that’s not a fair expectation to have for a Supreme Court justice! /j

We should no longer deride writers for lazy plot devices or subpar foreshadowing when reality’s writers are doing even worse /j

Also, your article explicitly mentions that correlation does not equate to causation, and yet you all don’t put that until halfway down the article!

RFK Jr has been waging a war on the Autistic community for a long time. Perhaps WaPo should write an article about that instead of unproven causation.

Can you explain why this is the headline? Because that really both-sides this in a way that will panic more people into not wanting to take acetaminophen when the results of the research are inconclusive by their own admission.

Everyone really forgot about French Laundry didn’t they. Dude’s always been out for himself.

California's governor accused of COVID-19 hypocrisy after restaurant dinner with large group | CBC News
California Gov. Gavin Newsom said this week he made a "bad mistake" by attending a friend's birthday dinner during a spike in coronavirus cases and promised to "own it" and move forward. But there was...

For reference: this resulted in a block. I’m genuinely tired of folks who say Mamdani is a no go and won’t answer the question “who do you want then?” It’s not hard! You have three other candidates!
September 5, 2025 at 7:17 PM
I’m not sure if it’s true or not, will remain to be seen. But my feeling is that at the very least a united front is necessary to deal with the administration. Afterwards, we can have it out over which way the US should go.
September 5, 2025 at 7:15 PM
Well that’s really interesting because Mamdani is a registered Democrat and has won the nomination on the Democratic Party line. But since you’re a “normie Dem” who doesn’t want a Democrat to win, who do you believe should win the NYC general election?

I find the photography community to be a good palette cleanser! Especially all the bird pics!

Went for a short drive this am and got some looks at a group of yellow billed magpies, one of my favorite bird species. The lighting was just perfect and I got some pics of ones with their iridescent colors really highlighted in ways I have never seen before. Here is the best one. #birds

Wait, are we supposed to not be bitter in these trying times?
September 5, 2025 at 5:49 PM
Great! As a “normie Dem”, I look forward to seeing you vote for our nominated Democratic candidate for New York City, Zohran Mamdani, come this November! Thank you for doing your part to vote blue no matter who!

Genuinely a fate worse than death to be asked to spend that much money on that game.

For normal people’s context: the game itself is $50, but the extra DLC can cost over $300 at full price!

What are they on about? Do Democratic politicians even use these words in speeches anyways?

Also not wanting to talk about food insecurity, a literal kitchen table issue that they love crowing about, is very ironic.
August 22, 2025 at 4:29 PM
I’m assuming that Bezos said “well I can spend money to make politicians listen to me so we live in a democracy still” and that was pretty much how this editorial was born.

Very fair and very helpful!
August 21, 2025 at 12:44 PM
One of the hardest things to read in that was that Progressives need to take the high road and let Centrists embarrass themselves. It genuinely isn’t fair, but it does seem to be the best way to continue swaying public opinion. See Mamdani and how he’s handling the Dem critique for example.

They’re not sending their best (to DC).

So LBJ Part 2?
July 29, 2025 at 5:27 PM
To clarify, I figured we were in a similar mindset on this. Very much like this perspective though as someone who has seen Judaism used by family friends as a cudgel to not respect trans rights as human rights!
