A clean waxed chain will tend to prolong the life of your drivetrain components too. Best to perform a wax immersion first, then you can use drip on wax afterwards. Bear in mind to use drip on waxes 24hrs before your next ride though (in most cases)!

Agreed, it’s much cleaner after the initial degreasing job is done! There are some performance gains I believe, a few watts, but you have got to keep it clean, just like you would with and oil based lubricant. I didn’t do this at first and lost performance and cleanliness benefits

Yes, good point! As far as I know, the races have only been postponed due to WW1, WW2, and the Spanish Civil War. They've only been postponed in 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Giro running October 3 to October 25, and the Vuelta running October 20 to November 8, 2020.

Agreed, this is super dangerous for the athletes. Pro cycling is quite set in tradition though, what do you think is the likelihood of large calendar changes?

More recently I have found the analysis of economic inequality in the UK by Gary Stevenson both interesting and deeply disturbing. I cannot help but think back to a quote from Prof. Sandel's work, highlighting the division within sports stadiums that reflects broader social and economic inequalities
