Leqembi (lecanemab) is a drug that treats mild Alzheimer's disease by removing beta-amyloid plaques from the brain. It is administered via intravenous infusion or subcutaneous injection and has potential side effects, most notably Amyloid-Related Imaging Abnormalities (ARIA), which include brain swelling and bleeding. The cost is high, approximately $26,500 per year, and insurance coverage is often limited to patients with mild symptoms and confirmed amyloid buildup. What Leqembi is Leqembi is a monoclonal antibody that targets and removes beta-amyloid, a protein that forms plaques in the brain and is associated with Alzheimer's. It is approved by the FDA to slow the progression of Alzheimer's in patients with mild cognitive impairment or mild dementia. It has been shown to slow cognitive decline by approximately 25%. How it is administered Leqembi can be given as an intravenous (IV) infusion or a subcutaneous (under the skin) injection. Initially, it is typically given as an IV infusion every two weeks. After 18 months, patients may be able to switch to less frequent infusions or weekly subcutaneous injections, with some options allowing for at-home administration. Side effects The main side effect is Amyloid-Related Imaging Abnormalities (ARIA), which can include brain swelling (ARIA-E) and small spots of bleeding (ARIA-H). In some cases, ARIA can be serious or fatal. Patients with one or two copies of the APOE ε4 allele have a higher risk of ARIA. Other side effects can include infusion-related reactions, headaches, and falls. Leqembi has a boxed warning about the risk of ARIA, and a higher risk of ARIA-related bleeding in the brain when combined with antiplatelet drugs (blood thinners). Cost and coverage A typical year of Leqembi treatment costs about $26,500. Insurers are likely to cover it only for those with mild symptoms and confirmed amyloid buildup in the brain. There is a patient support program to help with insurance coverage and financial ASSISTANCE.

LT Calley was a junior officer who murdered 22. This bum runs DOD. LIFE is a good sentence for the MURDER of MANY DOZENS.
Lieutenant William Calley was convicted of premeditated murder for his role in the My Lai massacre and ultimately served approximately three and a half years under house arrest. He never served the full initial life sentence in a conventional prison stockade. Initial Sentence: Calley was initially sentenced to life imprisonment at hard labor in March 1971 for the murder of 22 unarmed Vietnamese civilians. Presidential Intervention: Just three days after his conviction, President Richard Nixon ordered Calley removed from the stockade and confined to his bachelor's apartment at Fort Benning, Georgia, essentially placing him under house arrest while his appeals were ongoing. Sentence Reductions: Calley's sentence was later reduced to 20 years by the commanding general of the Third Army and then further reduced to 10 years by the Secretary of the Army. Under Army regulations at the time, prisoners were eligible for parole after serving one-third of their sentence. Parole and Release: He was released on parole in November 1974, having served approximately three and a half years total, almost entirely under house arrest.

A room with what looks like three half barrels, with the smaller end at the top, with round wooden collars fitted on top of the rims. The barrel is unsealed meaning there is no wood at the top, so it forms a makeshift wooden toilet. There's no dividers between them. The walls are white, the floor is rough wood, and there is a window with wooden slats to the viewer's left. It is, in essence, a high end outhouse!
