New Research Alert! The report “Trans digital rights: Improving data visibility, privacy and belonging for gender-diverse communities” ✨ 💫🌈 Our research asks: If we could reimagine digital rights that center the needs of gender-diverse communities, what would they look like?
The image shows the cover of the report "Trans Digital Rights: Improving data visibility, privacy and belonging for Gender-diverse Communities" on the left. Besides the title, it says 2025 as the year of publication and the authors' names are Jess Reia, Rachel Leach and Sophie Li. The design is a colourful geometric pattern. 📝 These essays explore reimagining AI for environmental justice & creativity. AI has become ubiquitous across sectors like health, education, and finance, often operating invisibly in apps and services without user awareness. buff.ly/uOjsc1W @jhereia.bsky.social@mcforelle.bsky.social

Honored to be in the club with researchers whose work is deemed “not in alignment” w/ this administration’s “new priorities.” I know these grant losses hurt - esp to junior scholars and the staff employed them - and, I genuinely believe, we can be proud we were doing something they are scared of.
