C’mon... Isn’t ‘judging what people do with media’ the entire focus of our academic and critical disciplines. when are we allowed to get to the point when we’re no longer pre-judging?

I agree to an extent, but it’s reading on easy mode. Complex ideas become simple and un-nuanced. and it’s not the same as a reader or introduction, because the ‘writer’ doesn’t care if the gloss misses the crucial points

I made my undergrad students present on AI culture for midterms. I found the ASMR glass fruit/mukbang quite compelling. Italian brainrot is fine, but not something you couldn't have done with sketchfab, or a box of kinder surprise toys and some glue.

I live in a place with a highly developed Austro-Hungarian bureaucracy and the answer you get to a question is entirely dependent on who is working that day and what mood they're in.
