I’m unable to turn off the location tracking myself it needs an Admin to do it, but we don’t have a company VPN, and as for tracker I don’t think they have one in the laptop tbh..

But even if they did, S.Korea stops gps tracking, so they couldn’t check that I don’t think?

Not really, since we branched off from the big company it’s a lot smaller

What do you mean? So all my efforts may have been for nothing?

It’s set to my town location I’m not sure about zip code. I was googling and it says when I connect to my Wireguard it’s best to do it via Ethernet? However, my laptop doesn’t have an Ethernet port…

It just comes up on the left hand side of the windows page

Also my laptop now shows my location and the weather? I think they’ve permanently turned on location services? And I can’t seem to turn if off myself. Would this be an issue?

Hi! I was just wondering if you knew of anything a company can install on laptops to still detect location despite Wireguard?
Also for reference I’m going to South Korea and they don’t have location services at all, (like you can’t even use find my iPhone or AirTags in the country) would it be ok?
September 11, 2025 at 7:35 PM
Okay great! I’ve been using my Wireguard with my work laptop anyway and it’s been fine but I was just worried if that’d change once I’m out the country.
I’m also going to buy a second WiFi slate 7 so I’ll have two (one at home and one with me) because I think it’ll be faster right?

Btw do you know what Z scaler is? My company use that it’s built into my laptop. Apparently it’s a sort of VPN? But I’m worried if my Wireguard can work with that?
August 28, 2025 at 3:52 PM
Ohh okay so I don’t need to panic? That’s completely normal then?
August 21, 2025 at 4:20 AM
By the way is it normal for when I’m connected to my travel router, everytime I check my ip online it says my home location, but when I check apps like the weather or Google maps they show the city I’m currently in?
August 20, 2025 at 10:30 PM
Can’t I use the same one that I copied and pasted to my travel router or would I have to download a new separate one?
July 27, 2025 at 12:25 PM
Btw I just had a thought. Say for example I’m already travelling and decide to buy another Slate7 while I’m out there to replace my travel router, would that work? Or would I need to first set it up with my home WiFi? Because I couldn’t go back home once I’m already out there
July 27, 2025 at 7:58 AM
Oh that’s a good idea!! Okay I’ll try that maybe next weekend :)
July 26, 2025 at 6:21 PM
Yeah it was more so just that one website that didn’t but maybe it was a glitch
July 26, 2025 at 5:42 PM
I did the dnn test that you suggested by the way and it all came back as my home address. That’s good right? Maybe that website I was using just wasn’t working properly
July 26, 2025 at 4:53 PM
But the other router is my main router, the Virgin media one. I don’t think I can disconnect that
July 26, 2025 at 4:23 PM
In fact, I’ve tested now with 6 other websites and they’re all showing that my ip address is at my house. But that one website is showing the coffee shop. That’s worrying right?
