On Saturday we celebrated 50 years of GCT Vanterm. For half a century, GCT Vanterm and Deltaport have anchored Canada's Asia Pacific Gateway, connecting us to the world. This milestone belongs to the workers, families, and communities whose dedication keeps trade moving.

This summer we met with stakeholders, including Minister Gregor Robertson, on non-market housing. Build Canada Homes launches with $13B to deliver 500,000 homers/year, using Canadian materials and workers. This government is building differently.

Delta came alive this past weekend for the third annual Barnside Harvest Festival, celebrating music, artisan, food and amazing beer. Thanks to Ken Malenstyn, Barnside Brewing Co, and the organizers, it was a weekend that truly brought Delta together.

This summer, #CanadaSummerJobs created 175 youth jobs in Delta, bringing over $700K in local benefits. I was glad to meet young staff from the Boys and Girls Club and Delta Chamber of Commerce, seeing how CSJ is helping them grow and contribute to the community.

Delta Pride matters every day. This week I joined the first Pride Dog Walk in Ladner, where pets and families filled the village with colour, and the Pride Picnic at Memorial Park with music, food trucks and community. I toured the set of Allegiance, a Canadian drama filmed in Surrey. This production employs over 200 local cast and crew, supporting jobs across the film and television industry, boosting local businesses, and contributing significantly to the Canadian economy while telling Canadian stories.

Gathered on the Pacific shores, we remember the 80th anniversary of the end of WWII. More than 10,000 Canadians played a key roles in securing victory in the Pacific theatre, from defending Hong Kong to crucial air and sea support. Lest we forget.

My first restaurant adventure with a friend was at White Spot, opening Pirate Paks and dreaming of the sea. Today, $2 from every Pirate Pak supports Zajac Ranch, a camp for kids with medical needs. Grab a friend and relive the fun for a great cause.

In Delta, we toured Zodiac Hurricane Technologies with Minister Lightbound and Sales Manager John McKillop. This Canadian team builds and repairs vessels for our military, supports jobs in Delta, and delivers world-class boats used across Canada and beyond.
