This isn’t to say nothing about our country has been good. Just look at the art Americans have put out into the world. Our citizens (regardless of paperwork) have made great things. Our systems, however, are trash. And too many of us are bootlickers of one degree or another.

You’re not great at critical thinking, are you? I’ll make it simple: Democrats had leverage vis the government shut down to return the ACA subsidies. Instead of using that leverage, 8 democrats voted to end the shutdown ending any leverage they had. Being naive isn’t a political strategy.
