This didn’t happen to us, it happened because of us.

Failed 70s & 80s policies restricted what we could build and where, choking our housing supply and leaving too few options for people at every stage of life.

We can fix this, if we’re willing to act with urgency today.

I think Democrats should just stop answering these questionnaires. Take your case to the voters. Answering questions like these is opening yourself to being misunderstood & removes judgement and nuance. open.substack.com/pub/matthewy...

“The Life of a Showgirl” is the sound of an overworked entertainer reaching the mountaintop to find something worse than disappointment: burnout. Spencer Kornhaber on Taylor Swift’s latest album:

"This isn’t happening simply because of the wishes of one man. Many individuals are acting to effectuate these injustices and abuses. Many others are supporting their efforts in various ways. Many more are going along. And millions more are cheering them along."

If you think that the cancellation of research in “Democratic states” has no impact on people in Red States then you don’t know how the process works. Don’t buy into a superficial understanding of the consequences of these actions.

“When I feel scared, I look to history. I wish there were a secret playbook with all the answers – but there never has been. The only thing that has ever worked – time and time again – is solidarity: binding together, finding bravery in numbers too big to ignore, and standing up for one another.”
