I am completely in favour of a free press but please can you do proper reflection on your profession or just concede that you’re some kind of ‘fact’-based story-telling anxiety-driven entertainment sector?

It’s soooooooo telling that journalists, with a straight face, explain editorial choices with lines like ‘how significant does the story feel? How interested is our audience likely to be?’
Good grief, do you consider the power you wield or what affects your journalistic ‘feelings’?
