They took over running the building many years ago when it was in really dire shape. I think they have one of the better reps among afford housing in the TC

Years of studies, financing plans, proposals, are coming. This will still be vacant 10+ years from now.

DT was doing so well up until '19, then COVID and everything we were building up to was lost. It'll be 20 yrs before we get back to where we were

Except redevelopment takes years. West Pub/jail site been trying since the 1990s. Central Station been 15+ years in the making. If they're demo'd they will be surface lots for decades.

The city owns the Smith, Wtc, block 19, Robert St ramp, Lawson, Lowertown, and Kellogg ramps

They are city owned. That $ covers debt service, supplements the city's HRA budget, etc

I know that's odd. But here are two ramps, right now. Cars use to be parked to the top floor. Now they sit empty. That's lots of lost $ for the city.

Increased building occupancy, more mass transit riders, parking ramp usage, more eyes on the street. I'd say lots of little benefits adding up to larger positive things
