The Lunar ray system in the Copernicus/Kepler regions are composed of glassy impact generated particles that are highly reflective. Capturing them when they are illuminated overhead, near full moon, provides a particularly dramatic view. #astrophotography More details at: app.astrobin.com/i/hmxkbe
Bright rays stretch out from two craters in top left with the tops of mountains stretching out in a curve on the right.

I captured this image of the last Titan transit of the year on October 5th with very good but not great seeing. This is one of 23 images that I may assemble into an animation. More details in my gallery: app.astrobin.com/i/bdfx1sAn #astrophotography
Saturn’s rings almost edge-on with partial dark shadow from Titan on top and a lighter circle marking the location of the moon Titan.

Thanks, Bill. I was pleasantly surprised that the star forming regions are so visible without using a HA filter, while the faint color is still present.

This is NGC 6946, a face-on spiral galaxy on the border of Cepheus and Cygnus. Ten supernovas have been detected in this galaxy over the last 100 years leading to its nickname, the Fireworks galaxy. More details in my gallery: app.astrobin.com/i/57inax?r=C #astrophotography
Three spiral arms surround a bright core in this galaxy, with several purple areas of star formation throughout the image.

This is SH2-155 in Cepheus. The use of two dual band filters, recombining the signal in a Hubble3 palette in APP, brings out the subtle depth of the nebulosity in this target, sometimes called the Cave Nebula. More details in my gallery: app.astrobin.com/i/cha0mf #astrophotography
A central curved ridge with subtle blue/green nebulosity on upper right side and red nebulosity on left side.

I extracted 20 percent of 1200+ video frames using ASISTUDIO and processed the stacked image in Affinity Photo.

Here is an initial effort to capture Saturn with its rings almost edge-on with the 7" Orion Maksutov-Cassegrain from last night. Forecast is for great seeing tonight so I will try again! #astrophotography

I have been so happy to stumble across this functionality.

This lunar image is with a “new” Orion 7” Maksutov-Cassegrain lunar, planetary, and bright DSO telescope I just purchased. I stacked 150 fits files in Affinity Photo in 6 stacks and stitched them together producing a high resolution result. More details: app.astrobin.com/i/0ujkal #astrophotography
Almost full moon two days after being full including medium lit highlights, and crisp crater images on left edge,

Yesterday we spent the afternoon swimming with the fishes at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. Here are a few of the amazing and beautiful sea creatures we saw. We hope it will provide some peace for you in these troubling times. #jellyfish

As I set up Saturday, August 31st, the seeing was quite good and I captured a minute video and stacked this image of the Lunar Straight Wall which is visible one day after the first quarter moon. More details in my gallery: app.astrobin.com/i/b49z3c #astrophotography
A curved moon fills 3/4 of the frame with a clear shadow line across a crater close to center of the image.

This is the Western Veil Nebula in a Hubble palette. By capturing and integrating the ionized sulphur signal with the hydrogen and oxygen signal, the delicate filament structure is enhanced. More details in my gallery: app.astrobin.com/i/xund1g #astrophotography
A bright and pastel blue diagonal form from the lower left to the upper right side, with lighter red and green highlights framing the central image. Many delicate filaments emerge from this iconic image.

Glad you enjoy the photos. I am just an enthusiastic amateur enjoying the amazing universe!

This closeup of part of the colorful Eastern Veil Nebula supernova remnant is one of my favorite summer targets in North America. More details in my gallery:https://app.astrobin.com/i/yamj94 #astrophotography
A bright flow of red, green and blue filaments streaming from the upper left to the lower right of the image.

This is Sh2-101, also known as the Tulip Nebula in the Cygnus Star Cloud. I combined exposures from 2022, 2023, and 2025 (more details in my gallery: app.astrobin.com/i/vdx73i) .The subtle nebulosity surrounded by the dense star field makes this a summer North American favorite. #astrophotography
Surrounded by a dense star field, the semi-circular nebula glows in shades of blue, green and red in a diagonal pattern from the lower left to the upper right.

Summer in North America always brings to mind for me the Swan Nebula (M17) in Sagittarius. I hope this soaring bird brings some joy into your day. More details in my gallery: app.astrobin.com/i/9ezhlh?r=B #astrophotography
A bright blue, green and red bird like form soaring from lower left to upper right of the image, moving toward a blue/red wisp of nebulosity in upper right.

This beautiful small reflection nebula in Cygnus was captured with 3+ hours of exposures. The hint of red on the left side captured my eye. More details in my gallery: app.astrobin.com/i/0kixje #astrophotography
A blue nebula close to a bright star with a hint of red on the left side with a very busy star field.

While this is most often called the Pelican Nebula, it always looks more like a peaceful dove in the summer North American sky, shaded by the nearby North American nebula in Cygnus. We all need a little more peace in our lives! More details in my gallery: app.astrobin.com/i/rygqku #astrophotography
This is a bright colorful nebula in blues, reds and greens sprinkled with stars.

This is an emissions nebula in Cygnus (SH2-112) captured with 10+ hours of exposures with two dual band OSC filters using the APP Hubble 2 palette as a base. More details in my gallery: app.astrobin.com/i/gmjq1b?r=C #astrophotography
A bright central circular image in pale blues and greens surrounded by red toned nebulosity and stars.

This image integrates the first two panels of a four panel mosaic of the Southern summer Milky Way in North America. Let's call it the Eagle, the Dove, and the Lion after some of the most iconic targets! more details in my gallery: app.astrobin.com/i/qda5q5 #astrophotography
Three celestial heads including a lion, an eagle, and a dove from left to right. More details in my gallery: https://app.astrobin.com/i/qda5q5

I usually see the right hand lady (Eagle Nebula M 16) turned at least 90 degrees to the right. I was surprised to see this face emerge as I processed this image.
jimcase.bsky.social
The lion face on the left also looks like a Next Generation Klingon from Star Trek! And the face on the right may be wearing a nose ring?

These two twins in Serpens started as first of four panes in a summer North American mosaic of the Milky Way with the 51mm Redcat telescope. The twins requested their own separate image, and I obliged. More details in my gallery: app.astrobin.com/i/znuqdb #astrophotography
Two celestial heads shine as portraits from a nebulous background.

NGC6539 is a faint globular cluster in Serpens. The red cast in the image is generated by a large dark cloud complex in front of the cluster, which is located in the outer parts of the galactic bulge. More details in my gallery: app.astrobin.com/i/due5g2 #ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY
An unusual globular cluster with a concentration of stars with a red cast in the middle of the image. More details in my gallery: https://app.astrobin.com/i/due5g2

This image features three Sharpless nebulas in Cygnus, SH2-115, SH2-112, and SH2-116. I used a SHO palette from APP to bring out the luminosity and subtle oxygen and sulphur signals with the stronger hydrogen signal. More details in my gallery: app.astrobin.com/i/bti9te?r=C . #astrophotography
On lower left a large blue-green nebula with pale red accents and a smaller brighter nebula in the upper right side. My wife said she sees a large fish on the lower left ready to eat a smaller one on the upper right. What do you see? More details in my gallery: https://app.astrobin.com/i/bti9te?r=C
