As in both parties? What're you getting at? I don't think there was any intention of arguing against abolishing the electoral college here, just someone pointing out how data can be framed to sell a narrative, and the reality is that the US is divided down the middle, barely favoring either party.

Usually they're not this blatant about it, but fair point. I just don't tend to immediately jump to conspiratorial conclusions. We'll see how this plays out, but I expect a full confession and guilty plea personally. Decent chance he tries to use this situation to amplify his message. Time will tell

He had the gun and a manifesto on him, as well as a fake ID the shooter used in NYC before the shooting. It's extremely likely he did it.

Not terribly satisfying I know, but it's the best I can come up with that doesn't end up with massive amounts of human suffering followed by a relapse in a couple decades. Reality is that this is not an easy problem to solve.

Right now the best thing I think we can do is to hone our critical thinking skills, strengthen our own understanding of the issues, and help others to do the same. Making a lasting, positive change is going to require a paradigm shift in how people look at the world and each other.

I don't think that'd actually work unfortunately. CEOs and the like have the institutional power right now, and so removing enough of them is very difficult. Resorting to physical violence may be the only viable way to do so, and the consequences of starting that fight are too horrible to imagine.

Let me level with you here. Is your only goal here to have a laugh? Because if so, I'm done here. I genuinely want to work towards establishing a deeper understanding of the many, many problems society currently has, so that they can be effectively addressed. I'm not here to win an argument.

See, this is what I'm worried about. It's not so simple as "defeating" them. What does that even mean? What comes after they are "defeated"? Removing them is pointless if they are just replaced. I don't want to end up like the Soviet Union did, trading out oppressors. I want lasting improvement.

I'm just frustrated that this short form format makes nuanced discussion bloody impossible. I've not engaged with twitter or the like in months now, I'm just being reminded of what it's like trying to talk to people with a 300 character limit. Ppl be thinking I'm saying the opposite of what I am.

I think we're quite a ways off from that yet lol. Neural Link, thankfully, is nowhere near that impressive. Same with AI in general. Don't believe the hype; the biggest threat of current gen AI isn't in its capabilities, but in it being applied to situations it's woefully unsuited for.

Calling someone a villain =/= calling for justice. What I'm cautioning against is overly simplistic thinking. This is about actually getting justice, instead of just grandstanding for clout. I want people to stop suffering. That is my priority, not looking like I'm on the right team or whatever.

You really, really do not. This is the problem with this short form format; it invites mischaracterizations and misunderstandings. The "Russian bullshit" bit is honestly amusing given how far off base it is. This is why I prefer direct dialogue; I can clear up the misunderstandings as they happen.
