We’re saddened to hear that Steve Albini has passed away at the age of 61. On top of being an influential musician and engineer, he was an outspoken critic of the recording industry. His 1993 story “The Problem with Music” took labels to task.

I think this essay by Winnicott helps get at his particular version of psychoanalysis. He describes both a personal movement *from* pediatrics *to* psychiatry, as well as a vocational self-understanding of his own disciplinary practice as taking place *between* pediatrics and psychiatry.
