I was 15 in 1970, understood the meaning quite clearly. It was about that time I was seriously beginning to question much of what I'd been taught about the country I lived in.

We have them by the thousands out here in western Texas and love having their company. Ever notice how one of their calls sounds just like "Bring out your dead!"?

The Hoopoe shows up throughout James Michener's "The Source", a book I first read in my teens in the late 1960s. And yet, until recently I'd never seen a photo of this rather handsome bird. Thank you!

There's a part of the book "The Three Body Problem" that talks about the US invading Venezuela.

Awwwww - now there you go ruining folk's day by posting facts.

Coming here to say the same. Seems it was ok when it was some "other person", now he's decided he's butt hurt because it's his daughter. trump's a prick for doing it, but he was a prick before that also!

USAF; Ret. '74-'94. Stand your ground sir!

Please don't do this. When trump says things like this about people, to denigrate and insult them, he shows himself to be an asshole, at the very least. Let us not follow in his footsteps!

May not be the 'best', but it's the the one that gives me the most warm fuzzies!

I'm almost 71 years old. If AT ANY TIME in the past someone would have said we needed a law stating that a felon can't run for President, my comment would have been along the lines of

"What!? Why would you need that?"

I've known we are not the country we say we are. Began to find that out in my mid teens, around 1970ish.

In my back yard this past Summer. They will grow with watering and normal summer temps (90s). Mine would be in bloom in the morning and drop their flowers by mid-afternoon. They die back with dry conditions but quickly recover when watered or with rain.

I remember that on some of Mom's LPs. Didn't matter much as our record player was mono! It wasn't until the late 1960s that we got a stereo!

Would you mind restating this comment in proper, coherent English. Thank you in advance.

How does that person speak with so much "stuff" in her mouth?

At the end our instructors put it bluntly, "I hope the day never comes when your superior puts you in a situation where you are required to even think about this!"
We now have a president and secdef who are doing that!

It's an easy thing to say, but! When I was in USAir Force NCO Leadership School many years ago now, we discussed the topic numerous times during the month long school.

Our Flickers have returned south to our part of Northern Texas over the past couple of weeks! We'll normally see them until around late March or so. Also have been hearing flights of Sandhill Cranes and a few Geese.

Have a pair of those!

Folks, give this guy a bit of a break. I am 70; I was 30 when he was given this position. I retired at 62, partly because as a computer programmer I didn't feel I was doing my best any more. This man is considerably older; perhaps he feels the need to step down because of his age!
