I think about that reforming idea a lot. Wondering how much we will be able to recover from this. Wondering if the progress won in decades past will ever be won back.

Why would we believe this? Because his previous behavior has been so remarkably consistent with his statements? Because his statements make logical sense? Because his actions are in any sense normal for a national leader? Why do I feel gaslit by every headline.
