Pool Update: T+40:00. Well the green haze is now a whitish haze. That means the algae is dead and we are left with a pool full of microscopic algae bones. The next step is to add this blue stuff that will coagulate the bones and help the filter skim all that out. Surface temp is 73 degrees F.

Pool Update: So we pulled back the cover and fired up the filter and chlorinator at Noon today. Now is T+6:00 two vacuums and backwashes with two lbs of dry acid. It looks like hell now but it’s amazing how fast it cleans up.

Retired Guy Chef: Tonight I did a redux. I improved my crabcake recipe by adding some secret spices and increasing the serving size. Costco sells some wonderful fresh crab meat. You can taste the pro-DEI goodness in every bite. I pared it with fresh tartar sauce and a hearty Cab from 2020.
