Our youngest student has been three years old and our oldest, 77! It’s never too late to learn.

Friends from very different backgrounds urged me to come to Brooklyn to see their favorite mayoral candidate.

Early mornings on #34AveOpenStreets can’t be beat! Lots of kids and families walking to school safely.

School arrival and dismissal in NYC & around US are the most dangerous times for kids b/c of careless drivers. It doesn’t have to be dangerous. We need more car-free school corridors like 34 Ave.

The warm weather yields brand new bike riders on 34 Ave Open Streets every day! He came to one of our classes but it was his big sister’s dogged persistence & cheer leading that did it!

Bicycling gives kids a taste of independence & a sense of accomplishment. Great to see!

At People’s Ribbon Cutting of the pedestrian path for the Queenboro Bridge. One shared bath for peds, bicyclists & runners is dangerous for everyone. We need the promised south outer roadway opened for pedestrians to link up Queens & Manhattan safely for all users.

Up and down 34 Ave moms and dads seemed to be out in force this weekend teaching their kids to ride! We will have more kids than ever joining us on our Open Streets family bike rides!! Can’t wait!

Finally in Qns: great bike lanes -safe & roomy: Queens Blvd, 31st Ave, Northern Blvd & Skillman etc. @nyc-dot.bsky.social did an excellent job HOWEVER we need PROTECTED connections between our PROTECTED bike lanes.

DOT PLEASE MAKE THE CONNECTIONS A PRIORITY.

In US: only on our #OpenStreets. This is 34 Ave in Jackson Heights NYC: 26 blocks/1.3 miles long &closed to thru traffic from 7am to 8pm 365 days/yr & dotted w/completely car-free plazas every four blocks.

7,000 kids safely walk to schools found on & around the Avenue.
