I just looked at my energy bill and it was brutal. Electricity prices have outpaced inflation 2X recently.

But imagine how much worse it'd be if we had gotten rid of the law Congress passed in 2007 to phase out incandescent lightbulbs and promote efficient LEDs...

It may be illegal and unjustified and ultimately horrifically destabilizing to the region and the world, but investors bet it'll be good for business

The real take away from the MTG profile in the NYT, for me, is this: How an intensely partisan media diet can absolutely bake your brain into thinking Trump might reward someone's past loyalty

Wow. In the latest YouGov/Economist poll, more people Strongly Disapprove of Trump's performance than approve (strongly or somewhat). 46% to 39%.

56% total disapprove

TELL ME HOW!!! I do not believe you! It's actually very cheap and efficient to deal with a regulated brokerage!!!!! AND LESS RISKY!

21! Like Blackjack! Imagine if this said "21Shares, which issues financial products that make it easier to invest in collateralized debt obligations"

It looks like ~30 no votes, so Indiana is rebuffing Trump's demands for a gerrymander!

This is inapposite. The majority ruled on 14th and 15th amendment grounds.

There's A LOT in this dissent, but this is the worst part imo.

As a matter of law, after Rucho effectively legalized partisan gerrymandering in 2019, Smith is correct here.

But that's the real outrage: That a judge can rightly say, "Look, they wanna rig the system, and we need to let them."

Judge Jerry Smith (Reagan appointee) is out with his dissent in the Texas redistricting case, and it is WILD

NB: Every major outlet is framing Congressional Republicans showing the smallest amount of independence from the White House as Trump slipping. So, instead of crediting Congress for finally exerting its Art. I powers, it's framed as a President showing weakness over a thing he ought not have power.

GOP's collective action problem (standing up to Trump) persists, example #189752323

Not the biggest take away from this must-read report, BUT: Kudos to NYT for resisting the urge to clean up this quote (she obviously meant to say "each one was crazier than the last").

It's very small, but hopefully will help show how honest this reporting is.

With 51.3% of precincts reporting, Dems are leading in the Bucks County, PA DA and sheriff races against Republican incumbents. Bucks is arguably PA's most swinging of swing districts.

The only real issue in the sheriff's race? Cooperation with ICE. GOP guy agreed to it, Dem says he'll end it.
