Two good things about Christmas: chocolates, and people buying books, which helps to pay for the chocolates.

Another box of TODMORDEN EXTRAORDINARY on its way to #TheBookCase, Hebden Bridge today.

Gone a bit arty-farty this morning.
Sunflowers.
Eat your heart out Vincent.
The daughter says this looks a bit '70s.
Which, as it happens, I do too.

Spotted by my daughter in a very nice cake shop in #Bala, Gwynedd.
In #cymraeg Cacen is cake, and ffenestr is a window*.
Window cake. This was a new one on me, but makes perfect sense.
No more Battenberg for me, henceforth only Cacen ffenestr!

* remember your French lessons?

Gatekeeper in my garden today.

Flighty blighter, he led me a pretty dance.

My dad used to talk about Robins following him about as he dug the vegetable patch. I try to avoid that sort of thing, but I could not put off cutting back the front hedge any longer.

And this little fellah turned up. Hungry family to feed, methinks.

When I signed up to the Corrugated Iron Appreciation Society's Facebook page I spent ages looking for this photo, which I knew I had somewhere. Today, looking for something else, I found it in a folder dating from 2006.

So here it is, shed near Pant-y-Dwr, Powys, 2006.

Suddenly lots of butterflies on my morning walk today. In the space of five minutes I saw this Red Admiral, a Comma, several Gatekeepers and some Whites.
