If anyone in South #Wexford wants green hay from this #wildflowermeadow to estblish their own #meadow we are cutting today. It's weed free packed with local seed. Please retweet.

Dodgy image taken through the kitchen window to remind us that #meadows are not just for #pollinators. Here are some young Goldfinches feasting on Knapweed seeds. From a flock of about 20 or more #birds

RESULT!
One of Swallow nest cups I placed to encourage more birds to nest has done its job! 4 healthy nestlings
We normally only have 1 nesting pair which is low for the amount of outhouses around A pair of Spotted flycatchers nested successfully in another cup weeks earlier

Couple of Skipper #butterflies from #Wexford #Ireland
They love sunny sheltered #forest rides with rough grasses like Cocksfoot & False brome etc (click on pics for more info) Keep an eye out for them this time of year.

The small patch of Winter wild #birds mix is coming on well despite the drought conditions when it was sowed.

Fair to say that the lawn is a bit out of control this year😜
6 years in the making this little #wildflower #meadow on heavy clay soil is looking good with diversity increasing with Docks & creeping Thistles almost gone.

Mullagh Mor in The #Burren Co. #Clare.
Once you see it you will never forget the place. Its rugged beauty will draw you back again and again. A real #botanists paradise.

No not The Burren in Co. Clare.
Instead it's our lawn!
#NoMowMay and still going :) Leaving it for a long #flowering #meadow now. Be criminal to cut it.
