I agree though that in the 2nd piece I could have been clearer about my dim view of that narrow interpretation.

I agree though that in the 2nd piece I could have been clearer about my dim view of that narrow interpretation.
My intention in both was to show that legal interpretation of genocide has been v narrow, as Micheál Martin noted. Even Goran Jelesic, who killed many Bosnian Muslims in the war, and who made a series of vile anti-Muslim statements I can't repeat, was not found by ICTY to have genocidal intent.
