Julio Villar is the first Spaniard to sail single-handed around the world. He didn't do it as part of a highly-publicised sporting event but anonymously, in silence, as a voyage of personal discovery. The boat he used was the same model that I'm sailing today, an Amel Mistral Super Sport.

I have sold my sailboat (the 6-metre Amel Pampero 'Korora' designed in 1969) and now have a share in her big sister: the 7-metre Amel Mistral 'Sloughi'. I will still be able to sail in Korora whenever I like since she stays in the same marina and the buyers are friends.
