In the sane part of the universe known as Canada, an adolescent Cardinal showed up at my feeder this morning. Family probably refugees from south of the line. Welcome to stay if they will tolerate winter in Quebec City -- this is the northern extreme of their range.
But climate change is undeniable.

Broadcast TV is slowly dying of cowardice. It started when they sacked Mehdi Hassan and has now progressed to Colbert and the rest. In a real democracy, it would be illegal for a broadcast network to be owned by a business subject to federal approvals.
Kleptocrats and politicians are a toxic mix.

I finally figured out how to get back in. Let's say I'm technologically challenged.
Got to say I thought Homan was dumber than a brick from his public statements his powers, but am amazed to see how cheaply he could be bought. I thought most folks in the Trump circle had a higher price than that.

If you believe that Trump's EEOC investigation into 'antisemitism' at Barnard College is being conducted in good faith, take a clear look at what his administration is doing about visa revocations and 'gang member' deportations.
Pro-Netanyahu Zionism and Judaism are not identical.

VP JD Vance, a Catholic ultra, gets a chewing out from a senior cardinal rather than the audience he sought with the Pope; then gets brief Easter audience.
"Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." Matthew 25:40
Food for thought, JD?

Bluesky seems to have a spellcheck as invasively idiotic as Facebook.
I write "Vox populi; vox dei."
It substitutes "Vox populism ; fox dei."
The former is Ciceronian wisdom; the latter seems to identify TRumpism with a Japanese Shinto cult.
Go figure. Or is AI trying to tell us something profound ?

I have begun to doubt the wisdom of the Founding Fathers in constitutionally prohibiting Bills of Attainder by both Congress and the States.
It is true that they thought the Electoral College would prevent anyone like Trump from getting near the Presidency. Not too prescient on either call.

Apparently to avoid being classed as an antisemite, you now need to deny the Nuremberg Principles can be applied to Israel. That bodes ill both for the Jewish religion and the US government, but it probably pleases neoNazis, Hamas and Benjamin Netanyahu.
In fighting Satan, avoid using his methods.

Trump's Justice Department put career attorney on leave for conceding the case for deporting Maryland man to El Salvador lacked any basis in law. No other proof of Pam Bondi and Todd Blanche's unfitness for their posts (AG and lead Deputy) is needed.
Fascism, thy name is TRump. Where is the Senate?

Specifying WHY I'm down on Harvard.
1) it enabled the sinister career of Henry Kissinger;
2) the Kennedy School's post-defeat rehab spots for egregiously corrupt Canadian politicians;
3) it caved to Elise Stefanik's attack on its President, Claudine Gay
Where have its New England morals gone?

While we are terminating and destroying for fun, what about Elon and DOGE ? Unlike their handiwork, preliminary results of their efforts show massive dystopic effect -- deaths, own goal shots, vanished data sets worth hundreds of millions.
Besides, we should all get to play shooter video games.

Among other reasons to diss Facebook, there is an epidemic of crypto fraud trying to exploit Canadian nationalism and the election pouring onto my feed. Variants of the old 'give us a few hundred' we automatically trade it and you make thousands schemes. Lots of Maple leaves and Carney pics.
SCAM!

While Secretary Rubio is working on foreign-born threats to the Republic, do you think he will get around to the Afrikaner-Canadian with the ketamine addiction? The one who seems to be firing government employees at random, trying to buy judicial elections (and Presidents) and other nasty stuff.
April 2, 2025 at 3:20 PM
Did you notice, while the media wasted hours on phoney national emergency tariffs, that Trump and Elon destroyed the scientific research capacity of the USA, Kennedy sacked your medical system, disease control and vaccines, and the vets were turned out to pasture.
How to kill a Republic on live TV.

Do you really think this scam will work? Recycled crypto
fraud posing as CBC News on Facebook. Lots of eye candy but URL has nothing to do with CBC.

I think the third term stuff is addled wish-projection from Trump. He and Elon may think they are immortal; Nature thinks otherwise.
Compare any recent photo with a year ago. Trump's health is going downhill faster than an Olympic bobsleigh. Even since the Inauguration the decline is obvious.

OLIGARCHY: : government by the few

The convenient thing about oligarchy is regime change requires only getting rid of a few bastards. Only a few folks have skin in the game.
Madison designed the Republic to give many some skin in the game. That's how it was supposed to work. Did, until recently.

The latest filing against the executive orders aimed at lawyers and law firms can confuse laymen with their detail. The issue is that the Trump White House is convulsively tearing at the Constitutional fabric like the Devil dipped in Holy Water.
Trump thinks his Will is law.

JD Vance's granmaw would have known Greenland wasn't for sale. You forget so many things at Yale Law and in Silicon Valley. Like perhaps who you were and what human decency consists of.
Vance's diplomatic style seems to have been learned from Don Corleone. He should have stuck with Granmaw.

What's with the algorithm? My Home screen is being deluged with cutesy angels and fairies and cat pictures. I came here for sane discussion, folks. I think we've been infiltrated by Vlad's boys and the MuskRATS.

In favour of those in the 'Signal Chat for the Ages', participants are more coherent than in public, seem to be interested in the idea of protecting US interests (albeit ineptly) and are not nearly as traitorous as their Dear Leader.
Unlike POTUS on Truth Social, they discuss. They do not rant.

Must reading: Jeffrey Goldberg, "The Trump Administration Accidentally Texted Me Its War Plans" The Atlantic Online

The Gang Who Couldn't Shoot Straight strikes again. If you tried this one on as a TV melodrama writer, you'd be laughed out of the room.

"Only the very best people ..."

As the precedents accumulate, the net of potential CIVIL LIABILITY is closing around the MUSKRATS and ICE agents like the assault of the Ents on Isengard.
