I finally called my federal representatives. Yes, at night.....still counts. Fallon has no VM set up in DC, but I was able to leave a message on the next number. Cornyn has VM set up, but I had to try 5 offices to find one that wasn't full. Cruz's DC VM was actually open!!

There's an East Palestine level catastrophe going on in Moss Landing that will affect California and potentially the rest of the US' produce supply. Farms close to this toxic fallout provide more than 70% of this country's leafy greens along with strawberries, artichokes, & many other fruits & veg.

I'm trying contacts again. One eye for distance, one eye for near. I could only get the near sighted contact in last night and it worked really well. Optometrist said to try for 2 weeks, increasing by 2 hours a day. 🤞

I listened to "Service Model" by Adrian Tchaikovsky and found it delightful. I'm going to be thinking about the themes for quite a long time.
It's clever, witty, a bit long in spots, but lots of commentary on society, automation, AI, war, and politics. Without banging you upside the head either.
