And by "reasonable conditions", presumably you're not referring to conditions that you would regard as reasonable to live in yourself? So maybe use more accurate descriptors, eg. adequate, functional. Thank you.

Animals are non-human persons. Either they deserve rights or they don't.
Presumably you wouldn't argue that rights for people in the global south are conditional upon the prior emancipation of all oppressed groups in the global north?
If you agree that non-humans deserve rights, say so.
