I don’t mean to conflate current news events with Disney. I just feel helpless as America—even idealized theme park depictions of it—is defunded, gutted and reshaped in ways that cannot be quickly undone. I’m alternately sad or numb about it all.

Losing the best Tom Sawyer Island and Rivers of America in a few days, on top of everything else going on, just depresses me, y’all. It was a respite, a welcome oasis in the middle of one of the busiest theme parks in the world. 🧵
