Picked up the 1945 edition the other day. Aside from the different typefaces, other interesting differences the 1957 edition introduced included replacing „low-high quotation marks” with «guillemets» and substituting *italics* for s p e r r s a t z . The 1957 version also uses ß instead of ss.

I have a problem: in addition to typewriters and fountain pens, I’ve gone and obtained a vintage Dymo typewriter. Save me from old technology! Now I just need a mimeograph and a short wave radio and I’ll be able to lead the resistance in analog.
