It tends to be very personal experience and practice, less organized faith, but to your question: yes

I think thats everything for now. Hype for Monte as always. Its gonna be a roarin good time.
December 21, 2025 at 8:20 PM
He needs a few more years, or maybe just the spec change, but he has the potential. He just needs to be patient and built himself up a bit longer first.

Maybe he proves me wrong. Frankly so long as no one dies or is seriously hurt; he can prove me right.

This is Rally. Its dangerous so I worry.
December 21, 2025 at 8:20 PM
He was pushing and it was obvious he was way past his limits. He crashed, coulda been worse but he saved it before the car went totally off the hill. Fast forward and Evans is now someone I think could take Monte from Ogier with reasonable push. I think Fourmaux is at Evans 2022 level.
December 21, 2025 at 8:20 PM
You have to be careful when you push. 110% 115% Reasonable. Growth potential. 120%+ starts getting reckless. I think taking Ogier at Monte is potentially in that reckless range for Fourmaux. I recall Elfyn Evans a couple years back 2022 I think it was, biting at Ogier's heels on the Monte.
December 21, 2025 at 8:20 PM
He is getting there and I hope he pushes himself, in the bounds of safety, for that victory over Ogier; but I worry he will push to far. Pushing past your limit is how you grow, but you cannot go to far past that limit without risks drastically increasing. This is Rally, people die annually.
December 21, 2025 at 8:20 PM
9. Fourmaux you can only win Monte if Ogier doesn't show. Great driver Fourmaux, wonderful, but I do worry he's going to push to hard. "Fuck it, send it" is a great mindset within the acceptance of your CURRENT limits. I do not think his current 110% is enough to beat Ogier at Monte.

8. Yeah Ford updates are pretty low importance, Jon Armstrong is a good driver maybe not who I'd have put in the seat but fine. Not sure why they felt the need to change things up though. Same issue as I spoke on before; why put a new kid in a car thats about to be outmoded? Seems silly.
December 21, 2025 at 8:20 PM
7. On the subject of cars. The Porche 992 Rally GT looks like it could be a solid R2 car even if Porche doesn't seem interested in fielding their own team. I really need to see some of action from it at ERC or WRC 26, but I suspect if it IS as good as I've heard we will see it fielded in 27.
December 21, 2025 at 8:20 PM
6. LANCIA! They've already said they arnt making a WRC27 car and thats respectable. R2 Lancia is still hype as hell especially with the Homologation making R2 "competitive". Yohan and Nikolay were perfect choices for this, and the Ypsilon is gorgeous. Im excited to see how it performs in 26.
December 21, 2025 at 8:20 PM
Frankly Price is a big factor but this needs to lead to growth. R2 is very popular, the ERC runs R2 and is loved. So the WEAKER car isnt a huge deal; but if this doesnt increase growth via lower price points then what was the point of the slower car.

Will see how it looks after a few years.
December 21, 2025 at 8:20 PM
5. I'll hold off judgment on the Homologation till 2030. Give it time to be worth not just having said "fuck it R2 is our new high level" and not doing anything else. I do not really get the point though, currently, of having things this way. Besides price.
December 21, 2025 at 8:20 PM
Doable because of the significant price drop with this Homologation. Ford and Toyota already run R2 teams so this is nothing new for them. Still we are going to need more drivers so pull up a couple of the new kids! Why not?
December 21, 2025 at 8:20 PM
for there R2 car which is a correct choice. Once new Homologation hits I expect to see mixed teams of R2 and WRC27 to take advantage of this "competitiveness". Probably fielding a team of R2, similar to Toyota's WRT2 for R1 this season. Having 3 R2 and 3 WRC27 possible per team ups our driver needs.
December 21, 2025 at 8:20 PM
4. The reason im pushing for moving an extra kid to the R2 seat is because of the Homologation plans. If the WRC27 car is going to be "competitive with R2." then we are gonna wanna fill teams with R2 drivers, simple as that. Lancia (more on that in a bit) pulled Yohan Rossel and Nikolay Gryazin
December 21, 2025 at 8:20 PM
Johansson a run for his money. Yes there are more experienced R2 drivers who also deserve a shot, but lets get some fresh faces up and raring for 27. Ford is the FACE of young drivers through JWRC and their R1 cars are usually rookie drivers. Toyota has its challenge program. Hyundai needs in.
December 21, 2025 at 8:20 PM
R2 shot for winning JWRC 25 so keep an eye on him but put some money in for Taylor Gill or Lia Block to have an R2 run 26. Pick up whichever does better for a team slot in 27. Gill was a serious competitor in JWRC 25 and Block has the experience at rally in R3 analogous specs. Either could give
December 21, 2025 at 8:20 PM
3. Put some money into a JWRC or similar driver and give them an R2 run for 26. If they do well bring them up to 2 as part of the team for the new Homologation in 27. We talk about the need for fresh blood, so lets invest in it. Give some kid a chance of a life time. Mille Johansson already gets a

This isnt the first time a triple driver season has happened for 1 car and historically its always a bit iffy to get everyone the car time they need for events. So it does feel weird.

That said, its for 1 season before the new Homologation so it also really isnt that big a deal.
December 21, 2025 at 8:20 PM
Stick Lappi on Dirt where he and the car are good. Maximize your chances that way. With 3 drivers your forcing Lappi and Sordo onto tarmac which isnt a strong suit for them. Additionally they are all 3 going to need tests and various other activities with the car whic is gonna be a challenge.
