I find it hard to be sympathetic given how much contempt so many medical and other HCW’s show towards vulnerable patients who request practitioners to wear a respirator.

Fellow CVID pt, I relate to all you’ve said. So many people assume their experience of life is all that there is: they have 0 capacity to stretch their tiny minds enough to imagine what life is like in a pandemic for those who understand basic science, let alone seriously immunocompromised people.

It’s heartbreaking. For all of us … but denying young people the most simple thing … (safe) human connection … is one of the many cruel and inhumane outcomes of this economically driven response to the pandemic. I hope your son manages to find a Covid-wise friend soon.

I’ve written about a gazillion threads with evidence between here and X, so at this point pls either take my word for it, or google.

I think it’s mostly passive-aggressive behaviour.
In the before times I was often asked to speak up as I have a quiet voice. I have only been asked to speak up a couple of times whilst in an N95 … and that was by my hard of hearing partner.
