This case is distinct from the others. I am hopeful that the focus on the 2nd strike murder will raise awareness & concern about all the 1st strike murders, but that takes effort. Labeling the one case as a war crime makes this effort more difficult—it’s ALL murder because we are not at war.

Well, except, these are the exact characteristics that got him the job.

I appreciate Jones making this point because it’s unhelpful, in my view, to distinguish the first strike from the second. They were both illegal. Both murder.

Seems important to note that military force doesn’t typically mean blowing up boats with humans on board in the absence of both imminent threat and certain identification. This is murder.

The denial goes further than that. Many voters deny that political advertising of any type influences how they vote. Voters convince themselves that there is some innate viewpoint that is not influenced by this form of marketing, but somehow IS influenced by personal life experiences. Big, if true.

So the requirement is to follow all legal orders, but all orders are presumed lawful. Right. Makes a ton of sense. So “I was just following orders” IS a valid defense?

We’ve no clue what Trump etc actually believe or think about the video, all we know are their words and actions. I believe they are lying, they know nothing said in the video is illegal (duh), they just won’t tolerate such public dissent. And they enjoy wasting our tax dollars to play partisan games

This is why the absurd criticisms of entire generations, blaming their “failures” on participation trophies, is just BS. Because the kids KNOW who won, They are keeping score. They know full well when they win or lose, and they prefer winning. AND they love trinkets like participation trophies.

Let me guess. His wife picked it out? I mean, she owes him one. Or two.

How about this. I will dress a tad more nicely when it’s no longer true that nearly every passenger on the plane paid a different price. Others point out that comfortable clothing helps when the seat and space and long delays are so uncomfortable. I’d like not to feel ripped off every time I fly.

We used to take for granted that our relatively high standard of living arising in part due to specialization & trade would continue. Businesses used to take tariff stability for granted. Now, overwhelming uncertainty grips families and businesses alike. Lovely “America last” new world order.

A man before his time. A grift too soon.

This may be the future with lots of improvement on the status quo, but there’s loss too. Too many different “outlets” and individuals, readers can’t possibly support enough, or even locate enough, to get a full newspaper-scope slate of news. Just bits and pieces, here and there.

Ironically, it is only the Republican narrative for the Epstein files. The GOP has run on a narrative that they are the protector of children, that they will save us from those Dem pedophiles for years.

I’m old enough to remember the 1980 Calvin Klein ad with Brooke Shields - “You want to know what comes between me and my Calvins? Nothing.” Brazenly sexualizing a 15 year-old actress. How old are models these days? Pedophilia is both encouraged and exploited by marketers.
