2/. Cars built with a certain with less than say 50% of domestically sourced parts at 50%. Cars sold containing over 50% domestically sourced parts are taxed at 20%. It can work across multiple products. The bottom line is. Only taxation will affect corporate behavior

I don't understand why anyone thinks tariffs are the answer.
The answer is through tax policy. Any country.
For instance, a product that hurts a domestic business, tax that product based on %age of domestic parts used. So, if a country wants do save its automobile industry it taxes ,,,,

Suburbs here. We have squirrels 🐿️ who I feed, rabbits 🐇 and see the occasional red tail hawk swoop in trying for a meal. Deer are all around us but thankfully haven't made it into our neighborhood. No elk, bears or cougars.
