I know from my own MidEast family history the repercussions global conflicts can have on local biographies. The image is from the 1880s and shows my step-greatgrandmother Fanny as pupil in the Anglican orphanage for Jewish girls in Constantinople.

Great Spot! Halifax, Nova Scotia (The big Cruise Ships can‘t get through the St. Lawrence River Locks to Toronto, I think not even to Montreal). However there are Special Cruise Shops who Can get through the Locks, even up the Welland Canal Further to Detroit, Chicago, Milwaukee, Duluth.

Das Deutschland und Frankreich sich immer noch sehr fremd sind, merkt man zum Beispiel an der Nahostpolitik: während für uns der Libanon ein Nest von Terroristen und Verbrechern ist, das Israel endlich weg Bomben soll, haben die Franzosen immer noch ein romantisch-nostalgisches Verhältnis.

Die Allgemeine Erklärung der Menschenrechte wurde von einem Kommilitonen und guten Freund von Hannah Arendt mitverfasst: dem libanesischen Philosophen und Politiker Dr Charles Malik. Menschenrechte gelten auch für Araber.
