The *GOP* (as in everyone there besides Trump) wouldn't normally care for the concessions they gave, but the ICE impositions are among the last thing Miller wants and he has Trump's ear the most atm.

The obvious tell is besides the "memes" from the start of the admin, practically no one was clamoring for Greenland until he started making noise about it. It really is *just* his own personal ask.

That would require invading *Denmark*, which is still a full boots on ground occupation anyway?
Like any military force to taking Greenland is going to have an indefinite ground operation. Avoiding it is like asking WWII to end in 1942 by demanding Hitler surrender verbally rather than going in.

In this case it might not be a bad option tbh - the DFL had a lot of annoyed peeps when Walz announced another run, this allows for progression to happen as it allows both Senate and House progression to occur, something MN appreciates having.

I excluded JUBILEE since that was a British/Canadian operation and AVALANCHE nearly repeated the same issues a year later at Salerno (this leads some to debate how much Dieppe really informed Normandy, but that's a different topic altogether)

Ironically the US did a decent job of avoiding super hard contested landings themselves initially (WATCHTOWER and TORCH were relatively light if not outright unopposed), before running into the real nasties that would crop up like AVALANCHE and STALEMATE, and ofc the legendary D-Day
