This is a problem that extends across the humanities. In the global studies program I directed, only 25% of majors were male. And it’s well known that men do not study abroad as often. My colleague Alessandro Brogi wrote a wonderful tribute to UARK emeritus professor and fellow Germanist Dr. Evan Bukey, who passed away unexpectedly last week. Dr. Bukey was a renowned scholar of Austrian history under Nazi rule, and his fascination with the German past was always inspiring.

I keep wondering how future historians will explain 2024. 1/2 of Americans said they voted for Trump because prices were too high, but two thirds think his policies will raise prices. How will they make it make sense?
