Honestly, I like the idea of California withholding federal taxes. For that matter, New York as well. And, I'm from West Virginia! We would get hurt, but I think it would get the point across.

I understand that. Studies show that when a protest movement reaches 3 and one-half percent of the population, the movement is able to sustain change like successfully mobilizing voters and influencing legislatures.

I think I've given up on Hakeem Jefferies.there's no fire in his belly. This is the time for pointing fingers, pounding podiums, and raising voices. Not a time for " measured responses". I think someone like AOC needs to be put in the Minority Leaders Position.

I'm more than fed up with warrantless arrests by ICE!
I have no problem with immigrants who just want to work at a job no one is willing to do, pay their taxes (which they do), and contribute to their respective communities.
How about emptying jails of violent immigrants first?

In Nazi Germany, the Gestapo carried a little metal disc with a series of numbers on it. This was their Warrant that allowed them to enter any premises at any time. No judicial review required.

Alan, NG units are trained in riot control. That's why they were called out in Detroit and other large cities in 1968. The first thing drilled into them is that guns are NOT loaded and bayonets are fixed; guns are loaded only when shots are fired. Ohio NG was called out for that.

Alan, that was the Ohio National Guard.
Not to defend them, but the investigation determined that there was insufficient training on riot control, and they were not ordered to fire. I suspect a scared NG soldier

Hate to say it, but we did...at least those who voted for him and the 30% who didn't show up to vote. My dad was a Veteran, and I wear an MIA bracelet for someone who is never coming home.

In Norway, no one pays tips because THEY ARE PAID A LIVING MINIMUM WAGE AND HAVE UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE!!!

It would approach a minimum wage if there was Universal Healthcare. In Norway, a person who is a cleaning worker grosses around $26 an hour, and Healthcare is covered by taxes based on income.
